Types of discount codes

When creating a promotion, you can choose between two fundamental types of discounts: Percentage and Fixed amount.

Percentage discount

A percentage discount deducts a specific proportion of the total booking cost.

• How it works: if you set a 20% discount, a EGP 1,000 trip will be reduced by EGP 200 (leaving the client to pay EGP 800).
• Best for: encouraging higher-value bookings or running store-wide sales (e.g., "Black Friday 20% Off").
• Limit: the value cannot exceed 100%.

Fixed amount discount

A fixed amount discount deducts a specific dollar value from the booking, regardless of the total cost.

• How it works: if you set a EGP 50 discount, a EGP 1,000 trip will cost EGP 950 (leaving the client to pay EGP 950).
• Best for: specific rewards, referral bonuses, or clearing inventory (e.g., "EGP 50 off your first trip").
